This is the Default Recipe for chocolate-chip cookies. It's written a bit oddly here because I've re-expressed some of the ingredients in weight measure, to make it somewhat easier to put together in a hurry. I recommend Ghirardelli bittersweet chocolate chips for this recipe.
| 270 g | flour |
| 1 tsp | table salt |
| 1 tsp | baking soda |
| ½ lb | unsalted butter |
| 160 g | brown sugar |
| 145 g | granulated sugar |
| 2 | large eggs |
| 1½ tsp | vanilla extract |
| ½ cup | chopped walnuts |
| 12 oz | chocolate chips (1 package) |
Creaming method. Bake at 375°F for 12 minutes. Refrigerating the batter before portioning will reduce the spreading, if you prefer cookies that are smaller in diameter and more cakey.
